Lululemon The (Big) Mat 5mm

The Lululemon The (Big) Mat is the oversized version of The Mat 5mm, at 84 by 28 inches instead of 71 by 26, and it's one of the largest mainstream yoga mats sold. It keeps everything that makes The Mat work: the same reversible build with a moisture-absorbing polyurethane top for sweaty practice and a textured FSC-certified natural rubber underside for dry sessions, plus an antimicrobial additive to hold off mold and mildew. The extra size costs 7.05 pounds, nearly two pounds more than the standard mat, and it contains natural rubber so it isn't safe for a latex allergy.

Hugger Mugger Para Rubber 5mm

The Hugger Mugger Para Rubber is a dense, open-cell natural-rubber mat with a different grippy texture on each side. Its 5mm build gives firm cushioning and a grounded feel, but the 6.6-pound weight makes it better for home or studio use than a long commute. The porous surface needs regular cleaning and careful air-drying, and the rubber smell can take time to fade. It contains latex and should be kept out of direct sunlight.
