Manduka PRO Long vs b, halfmoon B Mat Everyday 4mm: Which One Should You Buy?

The B Mat Everyday sells almost entirely on one property: it grips the moment you unroll it. The PRO Long sells on a different one: it is still working in ten years. At $118 against $164, neither is cheap and both are defensible.

Between them sit fourteen inches of length, five and a half pounds, two millimeters of thickness, and a few weeks of break-in that only one of these mats asks for.

GearLab scored the standard Manduka PRO 91 out of 100 in its 2026 roundup, first of 19 mats, with perfect 10s for comfort and support and for materials, and the award for a daily practice.

Its standalone review of the B Mat Everyday, dated November 2023, put it at 78 with 9 out of 10 for grip and 8 for comfort. That page still sits under the brand’s old B Yoga name with a discontinued flag on it, because the company renamed itself to b, halfmoon. The mat is very much still sold.

Different rounds, so treat those totals as two separate readings rather than a head-to-head. The grip and comfort sub-scores are still the most useful comparison available.

Owners describe the B Mat holding a dry palm from the first class, with no break-in at all, and GearLab’s 9 out of 10 for grip is among the higher marks it has given. Dense rubber has tack that PVC simply does not.

A new PRO is slick, and it is the mat’s most complained-about trait. Manduka retired its salt-scrub advice and now says the slickness resolves with use, which owners confirm after a few weeks. Once there, GearLab measured the PRO 9 dry and 7 wet, and it keeps improving for years.

Both are 26 inches wide, which is the generous premium standard. The PRO Long is 85″ against the B Mat’s 71″, so it is fourteen inches longer.

That matters above roughly five foot ten and does nothing below it. b, halfmoon does make an Everyday Long at 85 inches if you want that surface with the length, which brings the two mats back level on size.

Dense rubber at 4 mm protects a joint better than 4 mm of foam would, so the B Mat is not thin in the way a budget mat is thin. It is firm and connected to the floor, which is what balance poses want.

The PRO’s extra 2 mm shows in long kneeling holds and any pose that puts a kneecap straight down on a hard surface. If your complaint is knees rather than hands, that alone points at the Manduka.

The PRO Long is 9.5 pounds. That is a mat you drive to the studio, and the mass is why it plants itself and never bunches mid-flow.

The B Mat is 4.1, light enough to sling over a shoulder without thinking. For anyone who carries a mat to class more than once a week, this row is worth more than the price difference.

Manduka’s guarantee works out to roughly ten years of regular use with one replacement, proof of purchase from an authorized seller required, and Amazon counts only when the mat is sold and shipped by Amazon. GearLab has found PRO mats still in service after twenty.

b, halfmoon gives one year. Rubber wears faster than dense PVC and degrades in sunlight, so the B Mat is the shorter-lived of the two by a clear margin. That is not a criticism so much as the material doing what rubber does.

Both carry OEKO-TEX Standard 100, meaning the finished material has been tested for harmful substances, which is unusual to see on both sides of a comparison. The PRO is closed-cell PVC made in Germany; the B Mat is mostly natural rubber with some synthetic, made in Spain.

The practical consequence is latex. The B Mat’s rubber content makes it unsuitable for a latex allergy. The PRO has none in it, so if that is your constraint the decision is made regardless of grip.
