Unlike most travel comparisons, both of these are genuinely portable. The gap is a pound and a bit, and the real difference is that one rolls and one folds. Both carry OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification, which is rare on either side.

The B Mat grips by tack. Hands stick to the rubber on contact, and both faces are the same surface, so it does not matter which way up it lands. For a mat that gets carried to different studios and unrolled on unfamiliar floors, that reliability is the point.

The B Mat’s rubber is dense rather than open-cell, so sweat sits on top rather than soaking in. The tack copes with damp hands better than a smooth surface does, and a genuinely hot class will still beat it, which is why owners use a towel.

The PRO Travel is closed-cell PVC and absorbs nothing at all. What that buys is cleaning: nothing gets into the mat and a damp cloth handles it in seconds, which matters more on a shared floor than at home.

Both are 71 inches long. The B Mat is 26 inches wide, the current standard, against 24 on the travel mat. In a wide stance that is the difference between a hand on rubber and a hand on the floor.

Buy the PRO Travel if the mat has to fold into luggage, or if you already own a mat and want a cheap second one that will outlast it. It is thin, narrow, slow to break in, and covered for life.
